There is no doubt that Digital Media Across Asia(http://comm215.wetpaint.com/) is the most suitable wiki to understand movement of social media among Asia.
In fact. it was nominated as Best wiki in Edublog awards 2008 thanks to its high quality.
It is one of assignments for the students who take "Digital Media across Asia" in Singapore Management University to update this Wiki.
Since this course is demanding for student who is not good at new technology, those who actually edit this Wiki are fascinated enough by this kind of topic enough not to drop; it means they get along with new way of communication.(if you get suspicious, you should retrieve in #comm215 on twitter!)
In each term, this Wiki has been updated and so as this term from January. and for this term, you should pay more attention for its Japan page(http://comm215.wetpaint.com/page/Japan). For the first time in its history, two Japanese students joined!
As you may know, information about new technology in Japan was quite hard to see because of their closeness.
One reason is that their technology aimed mostly not for international market but for domestic market.
Also, the barrier of language was troublesome for outsiders.
But still, Japan is the country we cannot pass.
They are the most advanced country among Asia, and their market is the gateway to success in Asian market.
(Asian market loves what is loved in Japan such as Pokemon and UNIQLO)
Now, Japan page got insight from insiders. You can see situation around social media.
For example, you can see inside of mixi(Japanese biggest social networking service; to register, you need to have Japanese mobile address which is not SMS) and situation around twitter in Japan (Japan is the most growing market for twitter)
If you identify yourself as expert of social media or want to do IT business in growing Asian market, it is worth looking at.
